GYMNASTICS, TUMBLING & TRAMPOLINE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

BugaBoos – (12 – 24 months) - This parent-tot class is designed for curious and energetic toddlers.  Parents will have a ball helping their child develop their senses through movement and music!  This is an invaluable opportunity to bond with your child while nurturing a love of exploration and physical activity.  Each class is 30 minutes.

WiggleBugs – (2-3 years) – Parent and child interaction at it’s best.  Come experience the joy of learning with your toddler.  This mildly structured class focuses on cognitive skills as well as fine and gross motor development, and self and environment discovery.  Each class is 45 minutes.  

KinderBugs – (4-5 years) -  Because of their age, KinderBugs are able to handle a class which is more skill oriented.  Each 60 minute theme-based class provides students with plenty of physical challenges in a fun setting.

TumbleBugs – (5-6 years) - This class is for Kinderbugs who are ready to work on more skills.  Each class is one hour.

BouncyBugs – (4-6 years) – This is the perfect class for kids who love to tumble and jump but may not enjoy beam and bars as much as floor and trampoline.  Like TumbleBugs, this class is focused on skill acquisition.  Each class is one hour.

Special Needs – This parent-child class is designed for kids with developmental delays.  This high energy class spends time on the trampoline, tumble track, rope, obstacle course and in the foam pit each week.  Other class times may be available upon request.

Girls Gymnastics – Beginner (1st grade & up) - These classes are part of the Physical Kids Program and include a broad curriculum which emphasizes strength, gymnastics technique and presentation on all four Olympic events, plus trampoline!  Students are evaluated regularly and progress to the next level when they are ready.  Each student will receive an ‘Achievement Wheel’ which has spaces for each of 12 skill groups.  As skills are passed during class, students will receive ribbons to attach to their “Achievement Wheel’.  When all ribbons are awarded, it is time to progress to the next level.  Physical Kids leotards are available in the Triad Pro Shop.  In-house meets may be offered several times throughout the year to give the athletes an opportunity to showcase their efforts.  New students may schedule an evaluation for proper class placement.

Physical Kids Girls Team is for invited athletes who are ready for a bigger competitive challenge or are working beyond Advanced ‘Physical Kids’.  Athletes working on Levels 3-Novice Optional may choose up to three classes per week.  This challenging program offers athletes the opportunity to compete in and outside of our gym.  Some competitions will be sanctioned through AmeriKiDS Gymnastics.  Attending at least two practices per week is recommended in order to prepare for competition.  This competitive season for this team is January through May.

Boys Gymnastics – Olympians – (Ages 6-8) –  This class will benefit boys for any sport they will be doing!  Each class will combine sport specific skills such as throwing & catching footballs & baseballs, kicking soccer balls, tumbling and trampoline, obstacle courses, jumping and much more.  The boys will also participate in sports challenges and contests, and work to develop strength and agility.  Each class is one hour.

Boys Gymnastics – Gladiators – (Ages 9-11) –  This class will benefit boys for any sport they will be doing!  Each class will combine sport specific skills such as throwing & catching footballs & baseballs, kicking soccer balls, tumbling and trampoline, obstacle courses, jumping and much more.  The boys will also participate in sports

Tumbling & Trampoline Beginner & Advanced Beginner- (Ages 5 and up) – Tumblers and bouncers of any ability can participate in this super-positive program for boys and girls ages 5 and up.  Tumblers will receive ‘Achievement Wheels’ which has spaces for each of 6 skill groups.  As skills are passed during class, students will receive ribbons to attach to their ‘Achievement Wheel’.  When all ribbons are warded, it is time to progress to the next level.  Please call for an evaluation if student has prior tumbling or trampoline instruction.

Cheer/Dance Tumbling – Coed – Back Handsprings & Beyond – (1st Grade & up) – This class allows boys and girls to work on back handsprings and advanced tumbling skills.

Parkour Class – (Grades 7 – 12) – This class is designed to teach students how to negotiate obstacles in their environment by employing specific skills such as running, jumping and flipping.  Classes contain conditioning elements, as well as, traditional freerunning skills.
